The robust corner edges and the decorative diagonal grooves on front and back of the case were hallmarks of Zippo lighters in the 1930s. Other characteristics that distinguish the 1935 Replica from today’s Zippo windproof lighters are: Flat surface on top of lid. Flat surface on bottom with Zippo logo from the period. Bottom stamp identifies model as a replica. It is also1/8 inch shorter than current lighters. Three-barrel hinge attached with two outside hinge plates. This was the last production model with outside hinge. A hollow rivet secures the flint wheel to the inside unit. |
